Adopting a Mediterranean diet could help people lose weight, according to new research.
A study investigating the impact of eating such food revealed that they lost weight at a faster rate than those who asked to follow a low-fat diet.
The research was conducted by the Second University of Naples and was focused on Type 2 diabetes suffers.
It also found that only 44 per cent of people who followed the Mediterranean diet for four years after being diagnosed with the condition needed to take medicine to help control their diabetes.
This is compared to 70 per cent of the low-fat diet group.
According to the researchers, this shows that lifestyle changes are important in tackling diabetes.
Recently, a study by the Northwestern University in Illinois suggested that people can boost their slimming efforts by not eating fatty foods late at night.
The findings might be of interest to people buying products such as <a href="http://www.abcpharmacy.co.uk/shop/products.aspx?store=alternativeHealth&brand=Alli" target="_blank">Alli</a>.
