Why does Vaginal pH matter?

A normal vaginal pH of 4.5 is important for maintaining good vaginal health. At this optimum pH level, your vagina contains a specific balance of necessary bacteria and some yeast cells. This delicate balance can easily be disturbed, and when this happens, vaginal problems, like odour, irritation, discomfort and even infections, are more likely to occur.

How does RepHresh work?
Our patented vaginal gel is made of two polymers, polycarbophil and carbomer. Polycarbophil is an acidic molecule that adheres to the vaginal epithelial cells until they turnover (3-5 days) and buffers vaginal secretions near the natural physiologic level. This restores the vaginal pH to its optimum balance of 4.5 and helps to maintain good vaginal health. A balanced pH also keeps other bacteria from overpopulating. RepHresh contains no antimicrobial agents, yet by eliminating a supportive environment for bacterial growth, RepHresh also eliminates odour for up to three full days.
